Date and time

5 June 2017, 13:30-17:30

China National Convention Center, Beijing, China

Along with rapid development of cities, efficient and sustainable transportation system has become indispensable in ensuring cities’ healthy growth. The differences between geography, population, urbanization and development speeds across cities have resulted in specific green transportation policies, of which best practices should be learnt and shared between cities. In the context of Asia and especially in China, due to its scale and density on population, a major part of transport planning has been focused on infrastructure and hub development. Yet, based on the experiences of developed cities, citizens tend to have more demand in green and eco-friendly transportation options, and many research results point to quantifiable positive impacts to resilient city development. Promoting sustainable mobility in China and Asian cities are now among top agendas of many city governments.

Under this context, CHTS, ICEI and RIOH co-organize the International Mayors Forum on Sustainable Mobility as a session within the World Transport Convention; through cases and experience sharing of mayors and experts from cities, we aim at practically enhancing sustainable mobility in Asia

This forum will be joint by international mayors and experts, from cities with excellent performance on sustainable mobility, to elaborate their perspectives on urban mobility solutions. The following areas will be considered:

  1. Case studies of sustainable urban mobility;
  2. Transit-oriented development;
  3. Transport planning and land use;
  4. New energy vehicles and relative supports;
  5. Slow traffic / EcoMobility;
