EcoLogistics Self-monitoring tool is developed through the “EcoLogistics: Low carbon freight for sustainable cities” project. It is a calculation tool designed for cities to measure the existing GHG emission performance of urban freight using CO2 equivalent (CO2e) values. It can also be used to estimate emissions in the business-as-usual and target scenarios, thus useful for local governments to evolve strategies to minimize the adverse impacts of urban freight.
Launched in November 2019, the tool has been updated to reflect recent trends in the urban freight sector and is suitable for cities around the globe.
IKI EcoLogistics is a project implemented by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability. The ICLEI World Secretariat is responsible for project management and coordination. ICLEI South America Secretariat and ICLEI South Asia Secretariat are the implementing partners. Despacio, the Smart Freight Centre and the Zaragoza Logistics Center are technical partners for this project.
The project is supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) through the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
