Students campaign to use public transport in Almada, Portugal

As part of the Almada’s Local Strategy for Sustainable Mobility and the European Project SEGMENT, co-financed by Intelligent Energy Europe, the campaign started with the need to shift from private automobile use. They were instead lured into using sustainable transport instead at the beginning of their studies.

This scheme is coherent with the SEGMENT methodology, which itself is based on the knowledge that people are more willing to change travel behavior when they undertake big changes in life (change house, change work, change school…).
